This simmer plate is a must have for my stove, I use it a lot. I am so glad I spent a little extra on this good quality heavy item. One needs to allow time for it to heat up before the saucepan (that has come up to simmering point) on another ring is put on it. It could be easy to forget its very hot or for someone else to not realise its very hot, but thats the case with any simmer plate. I highly recommend this, in fact I will probably be ordering another one soon.
